U7 Coaching Approach

Coach requirements

Coaches and bench staff require a Community Development course for this level.  It is the volunteer's responsibility to complete this course and the subsequent work book before the end of the playing season.  More information on coaching requirements is available from our Division Director.

Goalie selection/development

The ALA LTAD states that no player at this age group should play goalie exclusively.  The Posse encourages the coaching staff to allow all players to try goalie and then at Tyke, encourage the player that showed the most ability to stick with it over the final few games of the season.  Often kids don't know if they will like it until they try and this position is a challenge to fill as the club grows.
