U11 Coaching Approach

Goalie selection/development

The ALA LTAD supports players committing to the position of goalie at U11 and the Parkland Posse will supply goalie gear up until a player graduates to U17.  Things to consider in developing your goalie at this age:

- Understanding the 5 shooter angles

- Centering themselves in the net, completing a post check after each shot

- Stand tall, shoulders back and step out to block the net

- Shooters must avoid head shots (will create flinching and fear of the ball)
